There are 67 layers of Damascus Steel forged through composite forging. The blade is then given vacuum heat treatment which hardens the steel core to 60 +/- 2 HRC, this ensures the blade is sharp and durable.
What is Damascus Steel?
Damascus steel is a type of high-carbon steel known for its distinctive patterns and exceptional strength.
Originally, it was created using the wootz process in the Near East and was primarily used for swords and blades.
While the original wootz process has been lost, modern knifemakers and metallurgists have developed techniques to create similar patterns and properties in what is often referred to as “Damascus steel.”
What is a kiritsuke Knife?
Kiritsuke is a Japanese kitchen knife known for its versatility and precision.
It’s often described as a hybrid between the Yanagiba (raw fish slicer) and the Usuba (Japanese-style vegetable knife).

Delivery was a week late despite choice promise. Logis table not that great. The knife makes a very good impression. Out of the box very good sharpness and above all symmetrical touch. I pulled it off again and then hair could be split. Really very good. Time must show how long the sharpness lasts. Due to the San-Mai structure, the hardness cannot be assessed on the blade back with the bottle test.
